Peter Moore is of the opinion that the motion controls presented by both Microsoft and Sony at this year's E3 are "huge opportunit[ies]" for the development house. Their development house, of course.

Finally stepping up to the plate in defense of video games is Electronic Arts exec Peter Moore -- and to Mr. President, Barack Obama himself, no less! After recommending that kids should play out in the sunshine more rather than play videogames indoor, in his speech to the American Medical Association, Obama has now been challenged by Moore to get into a 30-Day Challenge.

As it turns out, the E3 2009 Press Conference of Microsoft was to be John Schappert's last big gig with the company. Reports got out today saying that the man who handled Xbox Live and MS Game Studios has left the building to make his way back into his old employer, Electronic Arts.

"It's time to stop bad-mouthing EA." This is what David Rutter, producer for Electronic Arts FIFA game franchise, had to say to the naysayers and critics that have nothing but the worst to say about his company. There has been a lot of EA-bashing for some time now, so Rutter comes to EA's defense, with a small confession of his own.

Back in E3 at the LA Convention Center, Electronic Arts announced their brave new stab into the mixed martial arts gaming scene, EA Sports MMA for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game is going to be developed by the guys who handled Madden and Tiger Woods, EA Tiburon, with the promise that the game will feature a wider variety of moves and fighting styles than the ones we've already seen. Madden Curse, anyone? That's right, the not-so-coveted cover of EA Sports' Madden NFL will be sold to the highest bidder. EA Sports president Peter Moore talks about the auction, the upcoming Madden title, and how there's "a grain of truth" to the Madden Curse.

Unfortunately, you'll be missing out on two basketball game titles this year from Electronic Arts. It's just been confirmed - via EA Sports president Peter Moore, no less - that the NBA Street  (Xbox 360, PS3, PSP) series is on "official hiatus". Meanwhile, NBA Ballers (Xbox 360, PS3) seem to be also in a bit of a jam.

The music industry has spoken out about the five British developers and publishers going after illegal file-sharers in the UK. What of the other players in the gaming industry? We have yet to hear any official word on the matter from other developers or publishers, but Peter Moore - in his personal capacity - has talked about it, and he'd have to agree... with the music industry.

In the long run, whether or not the Wii is a fad really doesn't matter since it's still selling like hotcakes and still has the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 eating its dust.
