Well this sounds familiar. Not a week after the game went gold, the Xbox 360 version of Fallout 3 has been leaked and made available for illegal download on torrent sites.

British game developers have launched an all-out war against illegal file-sharers. They're not about to take piracy in the industry sitting down. But the music industry, another victim of the pirates, aren't backing them up on this cause. It's an apparent disagreement in approach and disposition.

The ELSPA anti-piracy unit was hard at work once again as it found two more illegal video game traders at the Bradford Computer Fair. Over £100,000 in goods were seized by the joint operation conducted between the West Yorkshire Trading Standards Service (WYTSS) and West Yorkshire Police. It's still a hot topic whether Crytek will actually bring Crysis to consoles or not. However, developer Crytek's president Cevat Yerli may have placed the final nail in the coffin by revealing the stance his company has taken after its most recent title suffered from piracy. Here's a bit of a blow to Take-Two, Rockstar Games, and everyone in the legitimate software market: the anticipated Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto 4 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) has been leaked to the Internet and thousands are downloading it to be played in consoles modified for playing backups. The Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) and some of its partners recently conducted a raid which yielded illegally copied Nintendo DS games stored on discs. Meanwhile, ELSPA's crime unit head, John Hillier, wants to remind gamers (whatever console you may own) the detestable effects of piracy on the whole industry. While some of us hate numbers, it's still interesting to see them all lined up there looking pretty. From piratical statistics, calendar dates, new version release numbers, price tags, survey results on "bedroom pasttimes", error codes, and, oh yes, blobs doing arithmetic.

Score another one for the Anti-Piracy Unit from ELSPA, as it seems that they've caught another pirating outfit and nipped it at the bud. Sure, it was in plain sight for quite a while, but it's definitely a victory. Not only were all the goods and illegal copying equipment was confiscated, but the penalties lodged against the culprits should make any future attempts at the crime a very risky business.
