After being confirmed for a 2009 release back in March, we've now narrowed down the waiting period for Sega's "Modern Day Spy-RPG", Alpha Protocol (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC). The release date: October 6th 2009 for North America.

Rumor confirmed - Obsidian Entertainment has finally announced through their official forums that the Aliens RPG has indeed been canned. For those who've been trying to get more updates on the matter, then this ought to be the final nail on that coffin.

It took a while for the Japanese to warm up, but Japan sales are now looking good for Microsoft's Xbox 360 (8,015), so said Media Create Sales' data released for the week of June 8 to 14, thus moving it up a notch closer to the PS3 (10,009). The PSP stays cozy at number 2 with 26,904 units sold. However, to nobody's surprise, it's still Nintendo (Wii - 18,442. DS - 42,280) who's laughing all the way to the bank.

 Following the government decision to uphold PEGI as the sole and official ratings board in UK, the BBFC has sent their well-wishes, albeit still with that restrained barb. BBFC Director David Cooke insisted that the BBFC would have been the better choice. Meanwhile, top industry heads are giving their praises for the government's pick. The PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade launch of Sega's online-enabled downloadable version of Gunstar Heroes has been dated for a post-E3 appearance along with the XBLA-only Sega Vintage Collection 2. Details after the jump.

Bayonetta's premise -- glasses-wearing dominatrix-like witch with transforming hair and gun boots kills evil angels -- seems a bit out there, but damn! It definitely looks like Hideki Kamiya has made himself one hell of a game. See the titular lead character face off against another witch in the trailer below.
