With the announcement of Metal Gear Solid Rising for the Xbox 360, PS3
and PC, Shane Kim believes that Microsoft has "effectively" reached a
"level third-party playing field" as far as exclusive titles are
concerned. He made note of this observation in an in-depth interview
with Gamasutra, talking about Project Natal, gaming initiatives and
more. |

A lot of us still seem to be suffering from that E3 hangover. But
that's alright. We've got plenty of back-to-regular-programming
E3-after pills to pull you through. Hey, just because the event is over
doesn't mean that our party is over. Read up and see just how much we earned from the aftermath of E3. Right after the jump you go. |

"Conceptually, the launch of Natal will be like the launch of Xbox
360." That is what Shane Kim, Microsoft corporate VP for strategy and
business development, told Kotaku. The plan is to have a ramp up in
marketing for Microsoft's E3 motion-sensing star so big that it'll be
just like launching a new console. Read more after the jump. |

Seems like I wasn't the only one of the opinion that E3 made a splashy
comeback with this year's event. Industry bigwigs also expressed their
satisfaction with how it averted near-disaster, and giving a great show
despite the pull-out of some companies, as well as the threat of the
A-H1N1 virus. Check out what some of the industry personalities had to say about E3 2009 after the jump. |

To make it just a wee bit easier, here are all the E3 2009-related news that graced the QJ.NET pages in the past week. This is quite long, so I'll cut this intro short and get right down to the meat. Hit the jump for the QJ.NET E3 2009 Round-up. |

Weird that our Warriors won't be touching on the E3 event when that was
undoubtedly the biggest news we had all this past week? No, not really.
That's because we're having a separate QuickPeek Special Edition for
that, so you watch out for that one as well. Besides, there are other things that happened in the industry that's
not necessarily from the E3. Compared to the dirth of information we
harvested from LA, they may not be as much, but yeah. They're still
very much there to be sure. And so this is the Weekend Warrior that
will not talk about E3. Don't just take my word for it. Click on the full article to see for yourself. |

This ought to explain why Rare was nowhere to be seen at E3. According to Microsoft's Shane Kim, the Rare team has been busy being "intimately involved" with Project Natal. |

How many articles about bad economy and suffering publishers have you read on QJ in the past two months? I lost count. That's because it's undeniable - the gaming industry in in the toilet, praying not to be flushed. Take-Two's Chief exec, Strauss Zelnick, describes the current situation to be so bad, that "being slightly down is the new up." |
