Some of you guys may recall Microsoft's previous announcement regarding their plans to remove several titles from the XBLA service, based on three criteria. While no games have been named yet, we did run into a list of some that just might be getting axed. You can view the list over in the full article. |

We don't even know why we bother reporting about Xbox Live Activities when we all know what Xbox 360 title emerged on top of the charts. But, on to the report, it is no surprise that Gears of War is still lording over the top Xbox 360 Live titles category for the week of April 2. Playing second fiddle to it is Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas and Call of Duty 3 is in third place. Crackdown slipped to the fifth position and rounding up to the Top five is fourth placer Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2.Over at the Arcade Titles category, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is the top title for this week. Followed by TMNT 1989 Arcade and Jetpac Refueled. With that, here are the top 10 Xbox 360 Live Titles and Arcade titles for the week of April 2. Xbox 360 Top Live Titles

We've just received word from Major Nelson about the Xbox Live Activity for the week of March 5. And yeah, you guessed it, the same game is still on top - Gears of War - is still lording over the Xbox 360 Top Live Titles. The top four is pretty unchanged with Crackdown on second place, followed by Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas, and Call of Duty 3. As for Top Arcade Titles, Alien Hominid HD was dislodged from the top spot by the newly released Worms from Team 17. Microsoft just issued a press release containing the Xbox 360 Momentum
Fact Sheet. What the heck is a momentum fact sheet, you ask? In a nut
shell, it's just a list of things the company can shove up the face of competition. Sounds a little too proud? There's nothing wrong with that if you have something to be really proud of, don't you think so?
The overall software attach rate for Xbox 360 is now pegged at 4.6 titles per console, meaning each Xbox 360 user has acquired more or less 5 games. Likewise, attach rate for accessory is quite impressive at 2.9 units per console. More than 10 million Xbox 360 units have been sold, and 6 million of those consoles' users are members of Xbox Live. Furthermore, Microsoft estimates that gamers spent over 2.3 billion hours on the network playing online games ever since 2002. An average of more than two million texts and voice messages are being sent everyday while each unique Xbox Live Gold subscriber has at least 22 friends on his friends list. All Xbox 360 owners have unlocked almost 300 million Achievements and of these, a combined total of 7.5 million Gamerscore have been created. Other worth mentioning milestones include the following: Top Worldwide Xbox Live Titles on Xbox 360 to date

Well, what do you know? There obviously is no stopping Gears of War from dominating the Xbox Live Activity. Old news, really. While all the rest of the top ten titles are moving places (it's just either up or down, really), GoW is sitting prettily at number for weeks on end now, and it doesn't appear like it's got plans of going anywhere.Crackdown's demo, on the other hand, takes a sharp dip from the number two spot to this week's number five. And he ain't the only thing falling. Lost Planet and Oblivion drops as well from their numbers five and eight positions to seven and nine. But it ain't really all downhill this week. We've got some fresh faces in the list, with the demo of Def Jam: Icon being the highest newbie. A couple more other demos make their debut on the charts, with NBA Street and GRAW2 coming in at eight and ten, respectively. Xbox 360 Top Live Titles (UU’s) 1 Gears of War 2 Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 3 Call Of Duty 3 4 DEF JAM: ICON (Demo) 5 Crackdown (Demo) 6 Madden NFL 07 7 Lost Planet 8 NBA STREET (Demo) 9 Oblivion 10 GRAW 2 (Demo) Top Arcade Titles (Full Versions) 1 Paperboy 2 Root Beer Tapper 3 UNO 4 Heavy Weapon 5 Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 6 Contra 7 Texas Hold 'em 8 Geometry Wars Evolved 9 Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting 10 Small Arms |

It wouldn't be much news to say that Gears of War is still the reigning champ. What is interesting, however, is that the Crackdown demo picked up steam this week, powering to 2nd with Call of Duty 3 replacing it on the 4th spot. The Battlestations: Midway demo is holding fast to 7th place, as is Lost Planet to 5th.As for the Xbox Live Arcade lineup, Heavy Weapons is also planted on 1st place, with Hexic HD following in at 2nd. The other comebacks people may also notice is Bankshot Billiards 2, making its presence known at 8th place. Xbox 360 Top Live Titles (UU’s)

One of the many reasons why the many Sony zealots out there can't immediately "Dreamcast" the Xbox 360 is because despite the consoles' similarities to each other, the Xbox 360 has one major thing going for it: The Xbox Live Community. In fact, one could argue that this huge, already existing community, is what's powering the Xbox 360 at the moment, and it's what's giving Microsoft the edge in their drive to get titles for their console. This partially explains why Xbox Live Activity Charts are worth looking at and worth mentioning. That and it's also handy to know what everyone else is playing. Moreover, you'd be able to know which sub-community of gamers you're going to blame for network slowdowns or what not. Having said all that, here's the Xbox Live Activity Charts for the week of 1/22 as posted on Major Nelson's: Xbox 360 Top Live Titles (UU’s)

And the lead for last week's Xbox Live activity list is... Gears of War! Marcus Fenix must love being on top as GoW makes it once again to the number one spot on activity the list, followed by Rainbow Six: Vegas and Call of Duty 3, which was the previous poll's number two.Of special note here is the recently released Lost Planet title, which not only makes it to the top 10, but carves its way into 4th place, the spot previously held by Madden NFL 007. Moving on to the Live Arcade scene, Heavy Weapons also makes its presence known by blasting into first place, with MS. Pac-Man and XBLA stalwarts UNO and Geometry Wars trailing in at second, third, and fourth respectively. Xbox 360 Top Live Titles

What better way to greet 2007 than by powering up a console and playing 'til your eyes bleed? Major Nelson's newest post is all about the obligatory Xbox Live Activity charts, and for Week 1 of 2007, the 360 list is dominated by three shooters: Gears of War, Call of Duty 3, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas. Marcus, Eisenhower, and Clark and Chavez are all smiling right now.Over to Arcade, UNO tops the chart, followed by Assault Heroes. Guess there were enough lives in the Konami code for Contra to hold the #8 spot down. And yes, just as obligatory as posting the weekly Xbox Live Activity charts is this sentence: "If the Xbox 360 list and the original Xbox list were combined, then Gears of War continues to be the top Xbox Live title. " Still, with the scramble for Halo 3 beta slots beginning, we're wondering if Halo 2 will become some serious competition for Gears. For those who ask, Halo 2 still holds the #1 spot in the original Xbox list. Xbox 360 Top Live Titles (UU’s)
