The Senate in session (image from senate.gov) - Image 1

According to The Times Online, Senate has decided to hold off on a proposal that would have resulted in the restriction of sales of adult-rated video games to kids. Apparently, the legislation's sponsors couldn't find a way to write the bill without violating constitutional rights.

The legislation would have imposed fines up to US$ 1,000 if retailers sold or rented video games rated mature to those under 17 or games rated adults only to those younger than 18. Court rulings have struck down previous efforts to restrict game sales.

The Senate voted to send the issue to a study committee. Sen. David Ford, who sponsored the bill, said he hoped the study committee could come up with a bill that could pass a future session of the General Assembly and withstand a legal challenge on constitutional grounds.

Elveon

At the recently-concluded Games Convention in Germany, a trailer for the epic fantasy game Elveon was shown to the attendees. Set for release in 2007, Elveon is based on a comprehensive fantasy saga which goes back to the times of the rise of the advanced Elvish civilization. The gods have left the world of Naon in a rush; it is the place they had wanted to transform into their paradise.

Boasting of graphics that are supported by the Unreal 3 engine, Elveon, or "The book of elves", promises to be an exciting game to look forward to on the Xbox 360.

The Reality Pump developed game, Two Worlds, will allow its future gamers to be right in the thick of the battle driven by the hunger for supremacy of the Orcs to over the sapient races. Strange and ominous creatures whose origins are traced back to the times before the gods have come, live side by side with the Orcs, Dwarves, Humans and Elves. These creatures came to be known as the Second World. In the end, only one of Two Worlds is to remain. Some deep plot going on there, right?

Unfortunately, if you're one of the many who wants to test their gaming mettle in this one, you'd have to wait a little more. Although there has not been an official release date the game's publisher-- Topware Interactive, announced that it has delayed Two Worlds until Q4 2006 to give the developers additional time to polish the game.

According to Miroslaw Dymek, Technical Director of the Reality Pump development team: “’Two Worlds” is a milestone in our company’s history. We want to be sure that every gamer will have as much fun playing our game as we are having during its’ development. Therefore, the focus of our team will be to create a quality RPG game and not in making the previously mentioned September time frame.”

Xbox 360 gamers are soon to be gifted with to another role-playing game when Two Worlds is released. The game, developed by Reality Pump, is set to thrill players with awesome fights, engaging characters and a cinematic story set in a medieval fantasy world.

In the game, the desire of supremacy drives the Orcs to wage war against sapient races. Strange and ominous creatures whose origins are traced back to the times before the gods have come, live side by side with the Orcs, Dwarves, Humans and Elves. These creatures came to be known as the Second World. In the end, only one of Two Worlds is to remain.

We think the basic storyline is intriguing enough to pique the interest of RPG fans. With The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion hogging the limelight, though,  Two Worlds might just be in for one tough struggle.
