With the much awaited Spider-Man 3 movie swinging into theaters this May 4, fans will also be looking forward to the parallel release of the movie's game versions. In line with the movie's imminent release, Activision has stepped to state that the games will offer more than just an interactive adaptation of the film."The movie story line is only one of 10 story lines we have in the game," said Activision's global brand management VP Rob Kostich. It will be remembered that Activision's Chris Archer made a similar statement, along with details on the dev team's major revisions to the game to ensure it carried the movie's cinematic experience. Another detail mentioned was the game's use of the movie's original voice cast. "Having the actors in the game adds to the authenticity of the experience and really brings it to life," said Kostich, further detailing that the movie's cast lent their voice roles for the game shortly after the movie's filming schedule concluded. Aside from Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man/Peter Parker), other voice talents expected to be heard in the games are James Franco (Harry Osborn/New Goblin), Topher Grace (Eddie Brock/Venom), Thomas Haden Church (Flint Marco/Sandman), J.K. Simmons (J. Jonah Jameson), and Bruce Campbell (narrator). The game version of Spider-Man 3 is expected to launch on multiple platforms: the PlayStation 3 (PS3), the Xbox 360, the Wii, the PlayStation 2 (PS2), the PC, the PlayStation Portable (PSP), the Nintendo DS and the Game Boy Advance (GBA). |

I personally like villains better than superheroes. Simply put, their characterization is deeper and much more complex. It is always easier to be the good guy. After all, everyone is expected by society to become law-abiding and good citizens. When it comes to villains however, I can't stop wondering how they ended up as such. I am curious about that specific turning point in their lives that lead to them completely embracing the dark side.I think the same exact thing will be tackled in the third installment of the Spiderman movie. Given all the dark trailers and teasers, there's no doubt that Tobey Maguire's character is headed to the dark side. Anyway, if movie fans are anticipating the movie slated for a May 2007 release, gamers are also feeling the same towards the up and coming title, Spiderman 3 (X360, PS3, Wii). Developer Activision is yet to release any material regarding this game. To our surprise, today we received an e-mail from reader JimmyT regarding some leaked villain art designs of the game. Accordingly, the images were obtained from online site AintItCool. We went there but unfortunately, the pictures were already brought down. Anyway, we found a way around it and so we're sharing the picture with you now. Removing an image of a previously unreleased title only means one thing: they maybe legit! But then again, we could be wrong. What we have here are villains Green Goblin 2, Sandman and Venom. We would like to thank JimmyT for the heads up. Enjoy! |

Activision brings Spiderman 3 to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Spiderman will again be protecting the City of Manhattan this time against the Sandman and an alien symbiote (Venom?!). Since the game is is still in production, there's not much details on the gameplay yet. However, that doesn't mean there are no sneak peeks as well. QJ has the latest Spiderman 3 trailer for your viewing pleasure. Reports say that this time out, the web-slinger will be donned in black both in the movie and the videogame. However, the trailer still show the superhero in his usual red and blue costume. I guess we have to wait a year before we confirm what the web-slinger will be wearing. Meanwhile, click the download link and see Spidey in action. Download [Trailer for Spiderman 3] |
