Now that we've seen official images from the Prince of Persia movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal, the franchise is setting its sights on another domain to conquer. The Disney Book Group has announced that they will be working on a Prince of Persia novel anthology based on the Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer film, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. |

Master Chief is not only saving humanity but the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) as well. In case you haven't heard yet, Microsoft is currently running an auction for the newly released behemoth FPS Halo 3 from Bungie Studios. What's in store is the so-called Ultimate Halo 3 Package containing:

With a couple of weeks left before the landmark Halo 3 launch, Microsoft is reminding everyone that it has some special gear for the game to make the experience as complete as possible. The company introduces its new line of accessories that include specialized Halo 3 Wireless Controllers, Wireless and Wired Headsets, plus a mini-keyboard called a Chatpad to make text communication easier. Todd McFarlane, the famed creator of the Spawn comics, was tapped to design the gear and he's come up with Covenant Brute and Master Chief themes for the controllers which sell for US$ 59.99 and come with a Master Chief figurine. For those who hate having to wrestle with wires, Halo 3's Wireless Headsets will be available in Spartan green and gold colors for US$ 59.99. Finally, Microsoft introduces its new Chatpad and Wired Headset bundled together to form the Xbox 360 Messenger Kit which is geared towards improving chat communications be it by voice or text. The Messenger Kit will be yours for US$ 29.99. Halo 3 is an Xbox 360 exclusive which launches come September 15th and is developed by Bungie Studios under the Microsoft publishing umbrella. |

Will this mean that the once-dropped Halo movie will become reality soon? 20th Century Fox, helped by its licensing relationship with Microsoft, managed to get the licensing rights to the Halo franchise. Fox will be rolling out various Halo merchandise, such as apparel, books, and even collectibles (Spawn's Todd McFarlane will provide Halo 3 figurines). With the immense popularity of the Halo franchise, Fox believes that they will be able to distribute and sell Halo products up to the release of the fourth Halo game. There is no mention about the production of a Halo movie, however. There were plans for a Halo movie last year which was supposed to be produced by both Fox and Universal, but was eventually dropped into obscurity. |

So maybe some of you weren't too hot about the Halo 3 McFarlane controllers. To quote a comment from lmxloco (Unregistered): "Eh, they look good and all, but they're a little too busy for my taste." Well, everyone's entitled to their own opinion. That includes Todd McFarlane himself. And to him, controllers are just the start.McFarlane Toys has just announced a partnership with Microsoft to bring in Halo 3 action figures come Spring 2008. Not only are they going to include a 6-inch Master Chief in their line up. There's also going to be Cortana, Brute Chieftan, Jackal Sniper, and a bundle pack consisting of two Grunts. Tagging along for the ride are, well, your Halo rides: McFarlane Toys will be releasing miniaturizes of the Warthog, Ghost, and Chopper as well. Solid Snake is getting his own 12 inches. Marcus Fenix is getting a big head as a toy. Well, it's about time that Master Chief got his own plaything-version too. |

Comic book artist Todd McFarlane - yes, the guy responsible for "Spawn" - has agreed to work with Bungie and Microsoft in order to spawn a pair of Halo 3-themed Xbox 360 wireless controllers.
Two controllers were made, one with a covenant theme and the other with a spartan theme. Both controllers come with a free McFarlane Toys Halo 3 figurine (oooh, that should be pretty). Both items are already listed by GameStop to cost around US$ 59.99. The controllers should be available by early September, supposedly in time for the actual game. The images of the two controllers follow; ogle them at your leisure. For the actual GameStop listing, feel free to head to it using our "read" link below.
