Famitsu has recently published its list of most wanted games in Japan. Unsurprisingly, the Final Fantasy franchise is still going strong, with Final Fantasy III edging out Final Fantasy XIII for the top spot. Biohazard 5 (Resident Evil 5 for us outside Japan), is in the number three spot, while Metal Gear Solid 4 and Kamaitachi no Yoru round out the top five.Square Enix is certainly enjoying a lot of buzz around its titles, with 3 games in the list's top ten. In what may come as a bit of a surprise, Microsoft has one title on the top ten: Blue Dragon for the Xbox 360. It seems that Microsoft's starting to learn what games it needs to market in Japan to carve out their share of the Japanese gaming market. Here's the top ten list: 1. Final Fantasy III (Nintendo DS/Enix Public garden) (-) 2. Final Fantasy XIII (Playstation 3/Enix Public garden) (-) 3. Biohazard 5 (Playstation 3/Capcom) (-) 4. Metal Gear Solid 4 (Playstation 3/Konami) (-) 5. Kamaitachi No Yoru 3 (Playstation 2/Sega) (-) 6. Blue Dragon (Xbox 360/Microsoft) (+ 2) 7. Seiken Densetsu 4 (Playstation 2/Enix Public garden) (-) 8. Sengoku Basara 2 (Playstation 2/Capcom) (+ 2) 9. Summon Night 4 (Playstation 2/Banpresto) (-4) 10. Gyakuten Saiban 4 (Nintendo DS/Capcom) (+3) |

The weekly list of the most played games over Xbox Live went out today
thanks to Major Nelson and the list seems to be maintaining the top 3
with Call of Duty 2, being played most of the Xbox 360 games, followed
by G.R.A.W. and then Chromehounds. NCAA 07 overtook Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The announcement that Final Fantasy XI has finally received achievements might have helped it overcome both BFMC
and LoTR: BFME II. Once again Halo 2 is still the top game played over
Xbox Live altogether but below is the full list of the top ten Xbox 360
games played over Live this week.

Major Nelson again graces us with insightful information that can be found on his blog. This time around though, its slightly different. Instead of just displaying the top Xbox 360 games, now he is releasing the top ten Xbox 360 games and top ten original Xbox games. Here is the run down.
Xbox 360 Top Live Games 1 Call of Duty 2 2 Ghost Recon 3 3 Oblivion 4 BFMC 5 PGR3 6 Final Fantasy XI 7 Rockstar Table Tennis 8 EA SPORTS™ Fight Night Round 3 9 Perfect Dark Zero 10 Hitman: Blood Money Demo Original Xbox Top Live Games 1 Halo 2 2 Battlefield 2: MC 3 Counter-Strike 4 Splinter Cell Chaos 5 Pro Evolution Soccer 5 6 Rainbow Six 3 BA 7 Madden NFL 2006 8 Star Wars: Battlefront 2 9 Forza Motorsport 10 Ghost Recon 2: SS He goes on to say that the #1 overall game was reining champion Halo 2, which is then followed by all 10 Xbox 360 games, then followed by the rest of the original Xbox games. |
