We're probably pushing our luck with this one, but really, PS3 owners sure would want to have some bit of sunshine after that cloudy FFXIII news stunned them for days to come. But we think there might be room for speculation as to the exclusivity (or lack thereof) of Square Enix Tri-Ace's fourth installation of the Star Ocean franchise, The Last Hope. Check out the "clues" after the jump. |

The Xbox 360 video game title Infinite Undiscovery from Square Enix and Tri-Ace is one of the heavily guarded WIP projects. We first learned about this some time during Q3 of 2006 and it is only now that details are beginning to surface. Infinite Undiscovery then finally revealed itself at the on-going Tokyo Game Show 07. We have here the trailer video shown at the said show and even though the game is still far from being complete, the graphics and the gameplay mechanics are already awesome. The game involves a case of mistaken identity between the legendary hero of the Resistance Army Sigmunt and the healer flute player Capel. It was said that Infinite Undiscovery is the culmination of a 10-year worth of ideas from video game programmer Yoshiharu Gotanda. The said programmer is credited for the first Tales game, SNES' Tales of Phantasia. |

A few more details about Tri-Ace's Infinite Undiscovery have come to light courtesy of Microsoft's pre-Tokyo Game Show conference. The said conference featured the first official trailer for the game. The main protagonist, Capel, has a semi-El Mariachi vibe going on: he's a a flute player and healer who looks just like the legendary hero Sigmunt. A case of mistaken identity ends up in Capel being thrown in jail by the Sealed Army. The heroine, Aya, who is a member of the Resistance Army, tries to rescue him without knowing that Capel isn't really the legendary hero. The battles in Infinite Undiscovery will reportedly be in real time. Encountering enemies will trigger the seamless transition between exploration and the battle screen. The game will be showcased at the Square Enix booth during TGS 2007. Keep checking back here for more updates. |

When Microsoft Japan said the land of the rising sun will fall in love with the Xbox 360 because of big RPGs coming out, the gaming giant is serious. Square Enix took the stage with Infinite Undiscovery and The Last Remnant at Microsoft's pre-Tokyo Game Show 2007 press conference, and it seems that Japanese and western 360 owners alike have much to look forward to.
As we've heard before, SE took developer Tri-Ace's Infinite Undiscovery under its banner. In this video, the game's producer and director shed light on a few details of the "dynamic" RPG with seamless gameplay. Larger-than-life Last Remnant, which is Squeenix' game "dedicated to the world," also got its share of the spotlight. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until TGS 2007 before we see new trailers of these two. If you're wondering what Square Enix had to offer during Microsoft's conference, just check out the video below. |

We haven't heard much about Tri-Ace's upcoming Infinite Undiscovery for the Xbox 360, but RPGs coming from that company never fails to deliver. That said, the excitement can't be helped when Square Enix took pre-Tokyo Game Show Conference stage to announce that they'll be publishing the title. Not surprising, you say? Since all of recent Tri-Ace games have been published under the same banner, we hear you there. Staple characters like Lenneth Valkyrie, Gabriel Celeste, and Ethereal Queen will be making their appearances too. Of course, we can't confirm any details about Infinite Undiscovery right now, and the Japanese official website that just went up doesn't help. There's not much to see from the site, but it's available for everyone's viewing pleasure via Read link below. Fortunately, 1UP grabbed some new screens that you can check out for now. If any updates surface, we'll make sure to keep you posted. |
