Mega Man - Image 1So, would you rather watch a Uwe Boll movie or a low-budget fan-made movie? I'd go for the latter any day, if you ask me! Check out this trailer for a fan-made live-action movie for Mega Man. Pretty impressive, actually - considering it's got a budget of, like say, just as much as two hundred Happy Meals would cost.

Uwe Boll - Image 1Oh well, it's not an outright ban from making videogame movies, but I suppose this will do (for now). See, biting the hand that feeds you gets you slapped back with bad karma. In this case, karma comes in the form of a US$ 2.1 million fine - and as a judge ruled this week, it's coming from Uwe Boll's pocket. Lesson learned: don't send hateful emails about the company distributing your (universally tragic) films.

Uwe Boll - Image 1Looking for a game-to-movie adaptation to watch this Spring? Then look no more as it seems that Uwe Boll's take on Crytek's Far Cry is heading our way, and it certainly looks to be the interesting flick. With gunplay, explosions, and some tongue-in-cheek humor, this might catch your fancy. Check out the trailer of the movie in the full article.

Uwe Boll's making sequels. - Image 1If you've been keeping track of Uwe Boll's hijinks on celluloid, you already know that Postal, his most recent game-to-movie adaptation, actually scored hits with critics who were expecting nothing else than poop on film. You also know that his next venture, "Far Cry", is already well into production.

What you probably don't know is that he's already planning to make the sequel to "Alone In The Dark", the 2005 suspense-thriller laden with so-so acting at best and unspeakable terrors at worst.

Before anything else though, it's good to note that he will not be directing the actual movie. Nope, ol' Uwe's busy in Cannes and handling sales of Far Cry and Postal.

What it bodes for the "Alone in the Dark" sequel, we're not quite sure, as he's yet to announce just who's starring in it or who's going to be in the director's chair. So it's still a toss-up on whether it's good or bad news We're putting our money on the former though, as it's always healthy to be optimistic.

Postal Boxart - Image 1It's been quite a while since Postal first hit game store shelves - ten long years, in fact. And game developer Running With Scissors is celebrating exactly that: a whole decade of blood and carnage and gas can-inspired pyromania courtesy of the Postal Dude himself.

A decade doesn't really seem much, of course. No gamer could easily forget a game where, as the Postal Dude, you were given free reign to destroy anything and everything in sight, with an array of weapons ranging from a grenade launcher to the fan-favorite gas can. But the developing company wants to let the fans know they appreciate the love and support they've received, and are still receiving.

"THANK YOU to all our fans, to gamers of all ages and genres, and to all those that wish we'd go away - RWS has no regrets," said Vince Desi, Running With Scissors CEO.  "Over the past ten years many a fan has walked in the shoes of the Postal Dude and, most importantly, enjoyed every step of the gameplay."

It's not easy to be the company behind the ultra-violent Postal, what with today's school tragedies involving guns and shooting sprees being blamed on videogames. But with a loyal fanbase which has sprouted its own community, top-ranked gaming mods and secondary franchises over the year (as well as an Uwe Boll movie on the way), it's also not hard to be excited about RWS' future ventures.

Need we also mention that RWS is already knee-deep in the development of the third game in the series, Postal 3, which will be barging into Xbox 360 and PC/Mac come 2008?

Time to fill up that gas can, Postal Dude.

Uwe Boll is not a very loved name in the intarweb. The German director is responsible for movie adaptations of video games that have received their fair share of "attention" in the flame-war ridden world of Internet movie forums.

Remember BloodRayne (2005), Alone in the Dark (2005), and House of the Dead (2003)? Well if you check out his IMDB profile he's also set to make Far Cry (2008), Postal (2007), and In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (2007). But nothing's ever final in Hollywood, and that's not what this post is about.

This post is about Uwe and him being a very stand-up kind of guy. Like him or hate him. Adore or abhor his works, at least he's the type of guy who is always ready to face his critics. Face them in the boxing ring that is. Play the video below. Enjoy.
