 Yesterday, Ninja Gaiden creator Tomonobu Itagaki announced his resignation from Team Ninja's mother company, Tecmo. In the announcement, Itagaki also announced that he plans to sue Tecmo for damages.In his statement, Itagaki mentioned unpaid bonuses that he was supposed to receive upon completion of Dead or Alive 4. According to Tecmo's own response, this particular bonus was something between Itagaki and the company's previous management. Tecmo also expressed displeasure about Itagaki's decision to make the whole issue public. The company labeled Itagaki's statements against CEO Yoshimi Yasuda as "distortions" and accused Itagaki of talking about Team Ninja projects as if he developed them all by himself. Tecmo also apologized to its customers and stock holders for any trouble the drama between the company and Itagaki may have caused. The company also noted that Team Ninja has already started working on new projects. |

In Tecmo's previous announcement, I found how his another lawsuit concluded.
According to the announcement Itagaki won the verdict of being innocent on May 22. But during the trial, the fact revealed that such sexual activities --nasty ones I mean-- had been being done on a daily basis by the guy.
The company seemed to give him a certain sort of punishment. And all these development of the S-harassment case was published on the Tecmo's site as a form of pdf.
I finally came to know why Itagaki got mad against his company .

he was definitely the face of team and his character in turn gave the company character. i don't mean to knock tecmo,i had a tecmo game or twu besides gaiden...back in the 90's, but he really should be the golden boy over there. unless he was floating around, covering the office in a cloak of terror and fear then they should just deal.
He has a little bit of an ego we all know that and we don't even work with him...what do you want hes making you money oh and one more thing. they may make new games after this but if it falters even a bit from from the quality of games and the standard that itagaki held while he was at post, tecmo may as well start packing there bags, there next game, post itagaki, better be amazing because they may not get a second chance.

for Tecmo, but good for whoever picks him up. Anyone that can make a top notch Fighter, diverting volleyball/fan boy lookie loo game and the Perfect Action Game all from the same engine can do it again. I can't wait to see what he brings in the future.

It doesn't matter if management changed. As long as the promise was made by a person who was at that time an employee of Tecmo, the agreement stands. Tecmo is responsible for anything promised by its employees - they are free to punish the promiser as they wish, but they still have to come with the cash or get sued.
